Recently, I was in West Virginia. I asked someone who lived there a simple question. I mentioned that the people of Southwestern Pennsylvania, really hardly a land of progressive and intelligent folk itself, make fun of West Virginia all the time for being stupid, backward, and white-trashy. So, who did people in West Virginia make fun of?
He answered immediately: “Kentucky”.
And, y’know, I never really considered it before, but he’s right. Kentucky really is so dumb that even West Virginians can make fun of it.
