In 1979, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates won the Superbowl and World Series. At the time, Pittsburgh was full of hope and morale. To recognize this, the city fathers, in their infinite wisdom, decided to institute a city wide slogan of “We Are Family”. Yes. Like the song.
The only noticeable thing that happened to Pittsburgh as a result is the Penguins changed their jerseys from blue and white to black and gold, and the whole steel industry imploded. Perhaps if one of the following alternatives were used things would have been different.
1. EAT IT BITCH OH YEAH!!
2. Anything but ‘We Are Family’

2. Beavers Beware!
