Man Shot for Door Mishap

Elmore County, ID – Idaho state police reported yesterday that a man shot another man outside a diner near Glenns Ferry. The gunman, 29-year-old Richard Slafkovicz, shot 26-year-old Dean Townsend next to Slafkovicz’ car. Slafkovicz claimed that Townsend had yanked on his door handle as Slafkovicz was unlocking the car, preventing it from unlocking and forcing Slafkovicz to try to unlock it again.

“I am so tired of people doing that! They know the car’s not unlocked, so why do they keep tugging on the door handle while you’re trying to unlock it? Something had to be done, and I feel no remorse.” Said Slafkovicz.

A trial is pending on July 26th, but a local judge has already indicated that Slafkovicz is likely to be pardoned. “I think that this killing was truly excusable. I’m pretty sure we’re all sick of people trying to open their door while it’s being unlocked, and I think that even though Mr. Slafkovicz was breaking the law, he may have created a new and just one through his example.” The justice asked not to be named.
