Ammangetorix Dead, Mormons Crush Amish Remnant

A dismal end for the barbarian leader Ammangetorix and his marauding Amish army of highwaymen.

Following the sacking of Toledo, the Mormon army marched on Columbus, but encountered the main Amish camp nearly thirty miles outside the city.

Marshall von Smithitz gave the call for no quarter and full attack upon sight of their beleaguered enemies. Immediately the Mormon artillery was brought to bear and the rout began. Ten thousand well armed and rested Mormon troops flooded the area, and only pocket of organized resistance could form before thirty guns, ten standards, and six thousand troops were killed or captured.

Ammongetorix was killed in action as he organized his personal guard for a last charge of the Mormon lines, but was crushed by a wall of artillery.

The surrender was issued by Amish brigadier Ammerlane.

Salt Lake City announced they will retain martial control of the region for some weeks in a staged handover to the Ohio National Guard and eventually will withdraw, but a formal peace document is still being drafted in Pittsburgh.
