President Bush today signed an executive order that vetoes the Middle East. What this means or how he expects to exert judicial power over a diverse group of sovereign states is beginning to astound world leaders.
“We really don’t know what he’s trying to say with this,” said Randy Yert of the New York Times. “It boggles the mind, really.”
CSPAN footage of the event was shaky at best, and the the clearly-agitated Bush sat with his hair and clothing askew in the Rose Garden, signing the document and drinking from a bottle in a brown paper bag.
“We think he set up the cameras himself,” said CSPAN director Keller Goodman. “It doesn’t matter, he didn’t break anything.”
After signing the veto, President Bush collapsed in the White House lawn, where he dozed for hours before being wakened by a rolling pin-wielding Laura Bush.
