John McCain Foreclosed out of 5 of 7 Homes

“My friends, these are tough times,” said McCain in a stump speech usually filled with insincere platitudes. But this time was different. “But seriously, my friends. I have a very serious announcement to make. My checkbook is in crisis. My beautiful wife, Cindy, was one of the principal investors in AIG… and the Lehman Brothers… and Merrill Lynch… and… well… pretty much everything that just fell apart. As a result, we’ve been foreclosed out of most of our homes. Like the average American family on Main Street, we’re feeling the pinch.”

Obama was not sympathetic in his response. “When the repo man came into my neighborhood to take away my latte machine, I didn’t hear consoling words from John McCain. In fact, he WAS the repo man, and he laughed the whole time. On his way out, he kicked my daughter Sasha. John McCain has been working for the repo industry for the past eight years, and America just can’t afford four more.”

While the Obama camp tried to paint McCain as part of the problem, some liberal bloggers went even further. “Why is McCain being foreclosed out of some of his homes? Easy—political posturing,” wrote maliashot99 of the Daily Kos. “He foreclosed them himself, deliberately, to make it look like he’s more in touch with people, when in reality, he’s just an old fart-bag.” This view is becoming increasingly prevalent, even in the mainstream media.

McCain also announced that he had to sell 4 of his 13 cars and the $300,000 getup that Cindy McCain wore during the RNC just to pay for healthcare. However, FactCheck.org labels this claim as “demonstrably false”, since 4 foreign-bought cars and $300,000 would never cover the cost of healthcare in America.
