CHUCK: Ooo! Ooo! I got another idea!
VERN: All right, let’s hear it!
CHUCK: Okay, so there’s this guy, and he walks into a bank…
The rest of the writers stare at Chuck in anticipation, as if expecting some sort of flash of genius.
EVERYONE ELSE: Uh-huh…
CHUCK: …and he walks in, and there’s this woman at the counter, just standing there all like…
Chuck screws up his face and tilts his head sideways, so as to convey the expression he has in mind for the character in question.
JOE: I’m laughing already!
FRANK: This is great!
CHUCK: And the guy walks up, and he says, like, “I’d like to make a deposit” or something. But the woman is, like, all retarded!
VERN: Brilliant!
JOE: Somebody write this down!
CHUCK: So the woman keeps saying stupid things, and the guy gets all angry, and it just goes on like that for about five minutes.
STEVE: I love it!
VERN: Okay, anybody else?
FRANK: Well, I’ve got this one idea I’ve been working on, it’s not quite done yet…
STEVE: All right, why don’t you tell us what you’ve got so far?
FRANK: Okay, well there’s, like, an office, right? With, like, a guy working at a desk.
CHUCK: I like where this is going.
FRANK: And then his boss comes in, and he says something like “from now on, you have to share an office with this new guy,” and the new guy comes in, and he’s all like…
Frank screws up his face and bugs out his eyes, so as to convey the expression he has in mind for the character in question.
JOE: That’s awesome!
FRANK: And that’s as far as I got.
VERN: Well, how about the boss is like “I’ll leave and let you two get acquainted.”
STEVE: Yeah! And then the new guy does something stupid…
Vern suddenly sees where Steve is going with this, and chimes in
VERN & STEVE: And the other guy gets really mad!
STEVE: Right! And then the new guy can do something else stupid, and it just goes on like that for about five minutes.
JOE: Sweet! Okay, we only need one more sketch and we’ve finished the last episode!
EVERYONE ELSE: Hmmm….
FRANK: That was the only idea I had.
CHUCK: Me too.
VERN: Come on, guys. I’m sure we can think of something!
Everyone sits silently and concentrates.
JOE: Oh! I got one! So a police officer pulls a guy over, right? But the guy is, like, all retarded!
VERN: Yeah! And the guy can say something stupid, and the police officer gets all angry!
EVERYONE ELSE: Yeah!
JOE: And then, the guy does something gross!
STEVE: Oooh! I like that! It’s, like, a change of pace or something.
JOE: Then the police officer leans over, and just pukes all over!
CHUCK: And then the guy in the car starts puking too…
STEVE: Everyone just starts puking everywhere!
CHUCK: And it just fades out after that!
JOE: Perfect!
FRANK: It can be the big finale to the episode!
VERN: Okay everyone, nice work. I think we have enough material to shoot our entire season now. Let’s all go on vacation, and be ready to do this again in three months.
